On Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, B’nai Brith Calgary Lodge #816 and the Calgary Lodge Menorah Foundation will proudly host Conrad Black and Barbara Amiel at the 73rd Annual Dinner — an evening with two influential public voices whose work has shaped conversations in publishing, politics, and culture for decades.

Conrad Black is a prolific historian, biographer, and columnist, renowned for his sweeping historical works and high-profile biographies of major political figures. A founder of both the Jerusalem Post and Canada’s National Post, he has long been a prominent commentator on public affairs and remains a sought-after guest across television, radio, and podcasts, appearing on leading outlets including the BBC, CBC, CTV, and FOX News. As a columnist, Black is widely known for his intellectually forceful style, his strong support for Israel’s right to defend itself, and his outspoken criticism of Israel’s adversaries, including Hamas and Iran.

In her own right, Barbara Amiel is a highly respected, award-winning writer and cultural commentator whose distinguished career has spanned Canadian and British journalism. As a prominent columnist and senior editor, she has been an incisive observer of politics, ideas, and society — celebrated for her sharp analysis, fearless opinions, and distinctive literary voice. Her work has earned a wide readership and lasting influence on public discourse.

An evening with Conrad Black and Barbara Amiel promises to be stimulating, thoughtful, and memorable — a timely conversation with two figures who continue to spark debate and shape public discourse.
