Join us for the opening celebration of the exhibit, 'One Thread, Six-Million Lives', which will be displayed at Calgary Central Downtown Library in the Shaikh Family Welcome Gallery for the month of January in honour of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

This poignant exhibit traces Nazi mechanisms of persecution through the story of one survivor: Wolfn“Willie” Woznica, a young tailor from Będzin, Poland. Willie’s memories show how eachnstage of Nazi rule permeated the life of one individual, his family, and community. His story echoes the fate of millions whose names, families, and futures were erased by hate.

Light refreshments and coffee included.

Created by dedicated volunteers, Samantha Kassel (relative of the Woznica family) and Brandon Hearty (arts professional with the National Music Centre), proudly displayed in partnership with Calgary Jewish Federation's Holocaust and Human Rights: Remembrance and Education department and Calgary Public Library, generously supported by the Balaban family, the Krell family, Viewpoint Foundation, and donors to the Human Rights and Holocaust Education Fund at Calgary Public Library Foundation.
