Since the inception of our local program, School Supplies for Kids in 1998, more than 17,000 children who took refuge in Calgary region domestic violence shelters have received a gift of a new backpack filled with essential learning supplies. For a child staying in a shelter, this gift offers a bright spot during a dark and difficult time.

This fundraiser helps support School Supplies for Kids as well as our Na’amat facilities in Israel by making a meaningful difference to the women, children and teens in our care. Our domestic violence shelter provides a safe refuge and counselling for women and their children, our technological and agricultural schools give a second chance to students who were not able to succeed in the mainstream educational system, and our daycares allow parents to go to work knowing their children are being looked after in a loving and nurturing environment.

Your generous support will ensure that the programs in both Calgary and Israel would be able to continue to provide these very important services. In Calgary, our local program, School Supplies for Kids, will continue to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to the same high quality as in the past and in Israel, the domestic violence shelter, schools and daycares will be able to continue to provide essential services to those in their care.
