What is Calgary Jewish Federation?

The Calgary Jewish Federation (CJF) is a community-based organization dedicated to connecting, supporting, and strengthening the Jewish community locally, in Israel, and around the world. Through a range of programs and services, CJF works to create a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive Jewish community. The Federation’s efforts include providing a safety net for vulnerable individuals, promoting Jewish continuity, offering educational and cultural experiences, and advocating for the Jewish community's well-being.

I'm new to Calgary—what support does CJF offer?

Calgary Jewish Federation (CJF) offers a warm welcome to newcomers with a variety of programs to help you connect and settle into the community. Through our ShalomYYC program, you can receive a welcome basket filled with useful items and information about Calgary, as well as be connected with hosts for Shabbat or holiday dinners.

How does CJF support Israel?

We support Israel through advocacy, education, and fundraising. We support programs that help send youth to Israel, as well as initiatives like Momentum, a group of moms traveling to Israel to deepen their connection to Jewish heritage and the State of Israel. We also collaborate with organizations like the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) to promote Israel's interests and raise awareness.
