Financial Aid

Calgary Jewish Federation helps ensure that nobody is denied Jewish experiences due to financial difficulty. We are pleased to offer the Integrated Bursary Program (IBP) that opens doors to Jewish life.

The Integrated Bursary Program: Making Jewish Life More Affordable

The Integrated Bursary Program was created to make the process of applying for a bursary more dignified, anonymous, effective, and fair. All the schools, programs and services covered by bursaries are on one application form, meaning the process is done one time for the entire year for all family members.

It is Calgary Jewish Federation's policy that families and individuals needing a bursary be accommodated if at all possible. We are committed to the ideal that no member of the Jewish community be denied a Jewish educational, social, or cultural experience. Those families that do not have the financial resources to pay full fees will be considered for a bursary. Contact us for more information.

The 2024/25 application form is now available.

Deadline to Submit IBP Application is Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

The Values of IBP

Bursaries are awarded based on need, financial circumstances of applicants and available community funds. Priority is given to those most in need.

Anonymity

The community members making decisions will only have file numbers – no names. This information will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Dignity

You only need to make one application for all Jewish education opportunities and other communal activities.

Straightforward

We recognize that families do not wish to complete forms and request bursaries at each agency. This process has been centralized to make it more streamlined and dignified.

Equity

Each application will be judged on its own merits, with the same standard applied to each program. This single centralized process maximizes the number of people participating, depending on funds available.
