Despite the fact that Year 2 started at the same time as the onset of the pandemic, partner agencies continued to engage donors in legacy conversations noting that now, more than ever, we all need to ensure Jewish Calgary’s future. By March 31, 2021 Calgary had received over 200 new commitments, and combined with Year 1, a total of 496 legacy gifts have been promised to Jewish Calgary. Yasher koach to all partners.
On June 21, 2021 incentive grant payments were made to each organization and Calgary Jewish Federation along with Jewish Community Foundation of Calgary were pleased to be able to present the cheques in person.
What is LIFE & LEGACY?
LIFE & LEGACY is a four-year partnership program of the HGF that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit local Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities. Through training, support and monetary incentives LIFE & LEGACY motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community.
What are the specifics of LIFE & LEGACY?
The vision of the program is that generous and forward-thinking members of the community will have an opportunity to express their passion, purpose and commitment to the future of our most valued Jewish organizations.
