PJ Library® - for children 6 months to 8 years

Calgary Jewish Federation is proud to partner with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in bringing the PJ Library® program to Calgary. PJ Library transforms the wonderful early childhood experiences of reading to a child into  powerful Jewish learning experiences by sending free Jewish children's books and music to families all across the world. Through the gift of PJ Library children in Calgary experience the magic of Jewish bedtime stories and songs. Each month registered children between the ages of six months and eight years receive a free, high-quality, age appropriate book or CD mailed directly to their homes. The books are just the beginning! PJ Library Calgary offers programs and activities to bring families together through shared experiences that enrich connections outside the pages of the books. Songs, social opportunities and event more stories come together through PJ Library events. We welcome all families raising Jewish children, whatever your background, knowledge, family make up or observation may be. 

PJ Our Way® The Next Chapter - for children 9 to 11 years

PJ Our Way offers the gift of exceptional books with Jewish themes for registered children in Calgary. Readers choose their books from a selection of four options every month, creating a tailored experience based on their own interests and reading level. The PJ website includes summaries and author bios, along with ratings, reviews, and video trailers created by members themselves. Participants can also take polls and quizzes, participate in monthly interviews and challenges, post their own reviews, and comment on blog posts. The PJ Our Way site is a completely safe and moderated space. It even has a blog for parents, where they can read about the books on offer for their child, and find family discussion questions for each book. Parents can also find out what values or topics are covered, as well as any content advisories parents or children should know about before choosing a book.
